Program Description

Event Details

This is an introductory series for participants to learn about social networks. This week we are focusing on the "front page of the Internet," the content aggregation and discussion website, Reddit. It will be open to all skill & knowledge levels.

Here are a few areas that the program will focus on.

  • The basics of how to sign up for Reddit, and how to start curating your communities.
  • Why Reddit has the reputation of being the "Pandora's Box," of social media websites, and why you may want to be extra careful in how you use it.
  • Karma, Awards, and Votes
  • Posting comments, replying to them, and sending private messages.
  • General Q&A for the participants that have more specific questions.

This event will be held online through a Zoom meeting. Participants do not need to have a Reddit account in order to participate. This program is supported through funding from the Friends of the Dallas Public Library.
