"Wangari’s Trees of Peace: A True Story from Africa" by Jeanette Winter tells the story of Wangari Maathai who started the Green Belt movement in Kenya in 1977. This afternoon we will read this story, learn about the Green Belt Movement, and then take on the challenge of designing our own trees of peace.
