Supporting Dallas’s Refugee Community

Purpose: Share information and the experiences of recent refugee communities in Dallas and how AAACE members (or anyone) can support. The audience will be City employees and members of the community (particularly those in Vickery Meadow).

Potential Panelists:

• Christina da Silva, WCIA Officer, Office of Equity & Inclusion (moderator + panelist)
• Mosaic Family Services Social Worker (provide perspective on Afghan refugee experience and how to be involved)
• Refugee community member (share their experience) OR another representative from a refugee service agenda

Other Components:

• Library card and library services sign ups
• Tour of the Vickery Park branch library
• Table or short presentation to learn more about the Racial equity plan
