The first Dallas Poet Laureate, Joaquín Zihuatanejo, will hold office hours for aspiring poets in the city of Dallas! These sessions are designed to help Dallas poets work on individual poems and to eventually create a poetry manuscript.

Movie Wednesday!
Every 2nd Wednesday of the month, we will have a movie screening for all teens, tweens, and school-age kids starting at 3 p.m. The movie changes every month!
All films will be rated G or PG. 

Do you have what it takes to win at Dominoes, Uno, Connect 4, and other games? Join the HELP Desk team every Wednesday at 3pm for Game Day. 

Kids and teens will be provided with a quiet, relaxed environment in which to complete homework and school assignments for at least an hour each week. Library staff will be on hand to assist and answer questions as needed.

Every week Arcadia Park will have a different themed craft for kids to work on.  The craft will be out after school every day, each week.

Reading to therapy dogs can help improve kids' confidence in their reading abilities. Since dogs are not judgmental, kids can read to them without feeling the pressure and anxiety that may come from reading to peers.

Crafternoons every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at the Vickery Park Branch Library!    

Create your own looming masterpiece! This looming workshop takes inspiration from the loomed potholders we all made in Girl Scouts.

Celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month by creating your own papel picado! Made of delicate, brightly colored paper and featuring intricate designs, these decorative flags are often used in Day of the Dead celebrations.

Wednesdays at 4pm will be the keyboard class with an emphasis on music theory!

Classes run from the weeks of July 5- September 27.

Like a combination of cross-stitch and paint-by-numbers, diamond painting is the new creative hobby that’s taking the crafting world by storm. You simply apply colorful resin rhinestones to richly pigmented canvas paintings. The result?

Let's make our own city! This week will be making houses, apartments, and roads. Join us to create a town of your own that will be displayed in the library!

Each class features beginner level instructions in guitar by an experienced instructor. Instruments provided. Great for ages 8 - 18. For the best learning experience, students should try to attend as many sessions as possible.

We will create our own Rainbow Scratch-Off Bookmarks! Everyone will etch their designs into a black bookmark to reveal the shiny rainbow underneath.
