Learn and hear about the history that lead up to Mexico's independence from Spain!

Like Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), this is a fiesta-friendly holiday. Unlike Cinco de Mayo, September 16th is celebrated throughout Mexico, celebrating the victory of a major battle and Mexico ultimately gaining independence from Spain. September 16 is the true Independence Day of Mexico.

This will be presented by members of the City of Dallas' Latinx employee organization- The Hispanic Association of City Employees for Results (HACER). The program will be held via Zoom, and will be online only.  All registrants will receive an email from Humanities@dallascityhall.com with the program link and details day of the program, about 30 minutes before the program's start.
