DESCRIPTION:The Cherokee War of 1776 collided with the beginning of the Am

tacks on encroaching settlers in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina,

from Great Britain, indigenous Cherokee people also contended for their la
nd and independence from outside rule and colonial expansion.  Author Dr.
David Narrett will discuss this pivotal time in North American history an
d the broader history of the Cherokee tribes from his book The Cherokees:
In War and at Peace. David Narrett is the author of Adventurism and Empir
