 uneteenth National Independence Day is officially celebrated on the annive
 rsary of June 19, 1865, the date that slavery ended in the United States w
 ith the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas following th
 e end of the Civil War. Since 1866, communities have been gathering to cel
 ebrate this historic holiday which became federally recognized in 2021. T
 his year, the library will be hosting a festival to commemorate this impor
 tant holiday. This event will feature the following:Dance and musical perf
