21st Annual Legacies Dallas History Conference

Join us for the 2020 Legacies Dallas History Conference on January 25th at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library on the seventh floor. Preservation Dallas is proud to be a sponsor of the conference again this year. The theme will be – DISASTERS: Natural & Man-made featuring a range of sessions and speakers, including:

• Deadly Dallas Explosions: More Unfortunate Incidents, Deplorable Mayhem, and Grisly Fatalities at the Turn of the Twentieth Century -- Rusty Williams
• Images of Disaster: Dallas, Texas - Peter Kurilecz
• Like a Bomb Went Off: The 1946 Baker Hotel Explosion - Misty Maberry
• Wrestling with Fire: Destruction and Resurrection of Dallas’s Sportatorium - Brandon Murray
• Terror from the Sky: The Dallas Tornado of 1957 - Moderator:  Mark Doty; Panelists:  eyewitnesses and weather experts.

The conference registration starts at 8:00a.m., program begins at 9:00a.m.
