Showing Film: Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

Synopsis: Edmund Gwenn won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of a department-store Santa Claus who runs afoul of the store's nasty in-house psychiatrist and is forced to go on trial to prove he's the real Kris Kringle. A Best Picture nominee, the film's director George Seaton won an Oscar for his script.
