This program is available online only.

Hear Ms. Vickie read “The Dinosaur Expert” by Margaret McNamara, about a girl who wants to be a paleontologist. After the reading, we will show four fossils that were found in North Texas. After the program, families will be encouraged to take a nature hike this week and look for fossils. Here in North Texas, you can often find fossils in the limestone creek beds, and around lakes, and in parks. There’s limestone all around Dallas because a longlonglonglong time ago, this part of Texas was the bottom of an ocean. If you can’t find a fossil, that’s okay – look for some cool rocks.

Kids will be invited back the following Wednesday to show-and-tell whatever they’ve found.
