The Bachman Water Treatment plant is responsible for providing clean, safe water to millions of North Texans. There are dozens of dedicated employees that work around the clock to make sure that’s the case. Join us for a special, in-person edition of Earth Day Every Day as we learn about how one of the sources of the water we use daily is processed! It will take place at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in the Hamon training room on the 5th Floor.

Presented by Jimmy Johnson, Operations Manager at Bachman Water Treatment Plant. Jimmy Johnson began his water utilities journey in 1997 with Fort Worth Water, dedicating a decade to Maintenance of plant equipment and storage tanks. After obtaining his B-Surface Water License in 2005, he transitioned to Plant Operations and became a shift supervisor. In April 2017, he joined the Bachman Water Treatment Plant at Dallas Water Utilities, swiftly advancing from an operator to shift supervisor. He proudly holds a Class A Water License.

Earth Day Every Day is a series of online environmental education sessions continuing with the Earth Day theme and bringing expert speakers, special program topics, and a reminder that every day is Earth Day. Presented by Dallas Environmental Quality and Sustainability (DEQS; Green Dallas). These topics empower Dallas residents to make sustainable choices that improve the quality of life for everyone in Dallas and the world.
