Family Funday: Herbie Johnson Jazz Quartet

Celebrate African American Music Month at the Renner Frankford Branch Library!

The Herbie Johnson Jazz Quartet provides performance based primarily on music development from the Modern Jazz Era. Musical selections are gleaned from the Great American Song Book as well as popular music and The Blues. 

This presentation will include an educational review of Jazz music designed for the whole family and listening sessions presenting music from early Swing, Blues, or Modern/Progressive (Bop).

All music will contain solo performances from saxophones, keyboard, bass, and drums. Improvisation, which is the key to Jazz music, is emphasized.
