Event Details

Jamal uses percussion instruments to explore the music and rhythms of diverse cultures. Jamal performs on a variety of exotic instruments, including Egyptian flutes made from PVC and Egyptian drums made from clay by his own hand. He will acquaint the audience with rhythms and melodies from Africa, the Middle East, and Asia using instruments such as gongs from China, xylophones and Talking Drums from West Africa and various percussion from around the world. Jamal will also demonstrate how music can be made using common household objects.
