Event Details
Attendees will be given a fun fact pamphlet every session that ties into the theme of that day’s activity. Regular activities will include manga drawing tutorials, origami crafts, and translation crosswords. There will be a heavy focus on tying activities into understanding the cultural significance of a myriad of recurring themes when reading manga. One such example would be to create origami cranes and to have literature/manga relating to ‘senbazuru.’ The goal is for attendees to relate the craft with its’ cultural significance- as displayed in various media.
This sessions' activity will be creating 'Ita' bag badges.
An ita-bag (also ita bag or itabag; 痛バッグ, lit. 'painful bag') is a handbag, backpack, or other kind of bag covered in badges, buttons, figurines and other merchandise pertaining to anime and manga fandom. In Japan, ita-bags are a popular piece of apparel among anime and manga fans.
