Visit with the Gardens Manager from Texas Discovery Gardens, Kerry Harrison. She will share her experiences at this amazing urban oasis in Dallas and talk about the wide-variety of native plants growing in the outdoor gardens. The newest garden, Conservation Canyon, features Blackland Prairie plants in a “bioswale.” How do these Texas plants save water, and can they help you add interesting plantings to your landscape with that special water-saving touch?
The Texas Discovery Gardens features a 7.5 acre ecologically-friendly garden with native and adapted plants. Inside the impressive building located at historic Fair Park, be amazed by the Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium, it will transport you deep into the tropical rainforests of the world, complete with hundreds of free-flying tropical butterflies.
