Looking at the water all around us, learn why we need to care about it no matter what time of year. Urban runoff and rain are not filtered before it flows into the pond that may be in your neighborhood or in your backyard. For a nearby creek, stream, lake, river, or storm drain it is the same story. In the summer, it seems like someone is always using a sprinkler system or washing a car. These acts in themselves are not the problem but what happens to the soapy bucket of water? The soapy water needs to go down the kitchen sink into the sewer system instead of into the alley and potentially the storm drain. Get the latest tips on how you can help.
Learn about this and other methods to save our water from the Office of Environmental Quality and Sustainability that focuses on environmental topics from Air Quality to Zero Waste.
