Have you always wanted to make your own music, but don't know where to start?

Join our workshop and let out your creativity!

 

“White Rock Hills Music Composition Workshop” will consist of four classes and a concert. The participants will learn music-making skills and work on composing their own music guided by award-winning composer Hee Yun Kim.

On the last day, the participants’ compositions will performed by a professional Dallas ensemble Kim Quartet. Hee Yun Kim’s new work, "White Rock Lake," will be also premiered at the concert.

Instructor’s Biography

 

Hee Yun Kim is a Korean-American composer of contemporary classical music. Her music has been performed in Europe, Asia and North America, including Paris, Munich, Amsterdam, New York, Chicago, Boston, Tokyo and Seoul. She was awarded the Pablo Casals International Composition Competition in France, and Tokyo International Chamber Music Composition Competition. She served as a jury for U.S. College Music Society International Conference and Martirano International Composition Award. She received her doctorates from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Krakow Music Academy in Poland, and a M.A. and a B.A from Seoul National University in South Korea.
