Program Description

Event Details

When reading Shakespeare in class, do you fumble your lines? Do you envy how natural Shakespeare's words sound when experienced actors present them? Get tips from the experts at Barebones Shakespeare--tips on understanding the language of the plays and on reading the lines aloud like you mean them.

Visitors to this virtual program can participate as readers or just as auditors. All participants will be able to ask questions about definitions, phrase meanings, pronunciations, and other concerns in real time!

Each date, our Shakespeare experts will treat texts from different Shakespearean plays:

September 15th: Richard III (Richard and Lady Anne)

September 17th: Romeo and Juliet (Balcony Scene)

September 22nd: Twelfth Night (Olivia and Viola)

September 24th: Hamlet (Hamlet and Ophelia)

September 29th: Midsummer Night's Dream (Titania and Bottom)

Attendees may register for multiple sessions, and texts will be prepared and available to attendees in advance of the program.

This program is made possible by the generous support of the Dallas Shakespeare Club and the Friends of the Dallas Public Library.
