The first Dallas Poet Laureate, Joaquín Zihuatanejo, will hold office hours for aspiring poets in the city of Dallas! These sessions are designed to help Dallas poets work on individual poems and to eventually create a poetry manuscript.

Join us for FREE weekly music classes with top-notch instructors at your local library! Instruments will be provided for use during class.

Kids and teens will be provided with a quiet, relaxed environment in which to complete homework and school assignments for at least an hour each week. Library staff will be on hand to assist and answer questions as needed.

STEAM fun is coming to the Vickery Park Branch Library every 1st and 4th Wednesday! This program is intended for school-age children to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math in fun and interactive ways! 

Wednesdays at 4pm will be the keyboard class with an emphasis on music theory!

Classes run from the weeks of July 5- September 27.

  “Graphic medicine” refers to comics and graphic novels about people’s experiences with health and illness. In this 8-week program, you will meet 4 times with fellow community members to read graphic medicine narratives.

Join us as we twist, twirl, and coil paper into wonderful works of art. We will learn about how to use recyclable materials to make necklaces, wristbands, and keychains.

We will be drawing what we think various objects look like at 50x magnification. Whoever is the closest after each round will get a small prize!
