GIS (Geographic Information System) is a powerful tool for visualizing information using maps. Nonprofits, businesses, and anyone seeking to know more about the place they live can use GIS to make a variety of data, such as demographic or economic data, more meaningful and easily understood.
This is part four of a four-part series. This class will provide an overview of how nonprofits can utilize GIS.

Be comfortable managing information on your computer and performing tasks such as opening and closing applications, navigating basic file structures, and managing files and folders.
About the presenter
A recovering urban planner, Bernardo Salazar, AICP blends data, technology, and GIS to understand the urban environment. With a diverse background working with nonprofits, community design, political campaigns, public policy, and more recently, emergency management, Bernardo draws from these experiences to generate a multidisciplinary strategy to address common geospatial and data challenges. He holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology, a graduate degree in Urban Planning, and owns two Chevy El Caminos ('85, '86).
