John Watts, world-class entomologist running the butterfly house at the beautiful Texas Discovery Gardens, teaches us all about the most famous of all butterflies and their annual migration phenomenon. Did you know that the monarch is the State Insect of Texas?  That’s not all you will learn during this important talk about the marvelous monarch.

Let’s tag some butterflies. John will showcase Monarch Tagging. How it is done and why it is so important to keep tags and tabs, on this iconic creature as they fly for thousands of miles each year on migration.

John Watts is passionate about the biodiversity of this planet and its importance to the overall functioning of this biosphere, the planet we call home. Please don’t miss this opportunity to meet John during the State Fair of Texas!
