Did you know you can grow tomatoes in the Fall? Fall is the best time to vegetable garden in North Texas because gardeners enjoy a higher success rate with their crops, fewer pests and more comfortable temperatures. Dr. Joe Masabni from Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension gets you prepared by reviewing all the basic cultural garden practices and then takes you through the various cool season crops suitable for a fall garden in our area.

Dr. Masabni’s area of expertise is vegetable production for small-acreage producers. Research interest is to develop production systems for high tunnel vegetables, aquaponics production, and pesticide and variety trials. Extension activities include developing online and printed materials for vegetable organic and conventional producers and homeowners, hosting workshops and conferences, and assisting county extension agents serving Texas clienteles.

Grow with Us is a series of online sessions from the Dallas Public Library - Seed Library and Dallas Environmental Quality and Sustainability hosting expert speakers to share practical, informative, and inspirational information about growing and urban agriculture in Dallas.
