Free GED preparation classes. All are welcome. No library card or I.D. required. Register in-person during class.

Calling all singers, dancers, poets, magicians, instrumentalists--performers of all kinds: On the third Thursday of every month, the Central Library's Division of Arts, Movies and Music hosts an open mic night. Show up, sign up, and show off!

Each class features beginner level instructions in guitar by an experienced instructor. Instruments provided. .

Senior Walk & Talk! A gentle walking group designed for all mobility levels. We’ll take a few easy laps around the library while enjoying conversation and fresh air.

Get help from the North Texas Food Bank signing up for Texas Health and Human Services benefits such as SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, and Medicare Savings Program.

Are you wanting to start researching your African American heritage, but not quite sure how to get started? 

1 on 1 dedicated help with a staff member from the Dallas Public Library. We can help you fill out applications, update your resume and find out about local resources that can help you take the next step in your career.

Get computer, tech and career help at the library! During a one-on-one appointment, a staff member can assist you with: 

Trained Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)/Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) volunteers will be on-site to help maximize your returns and check your eligibility for Earned Income Tax Credits.
