Do you want to learn how to play chess?  Are you a chess enthusiast or looking for someone to play against? Then come check out Mountain Creek our Chess Club! Chess boards are provided.

Calling all knit, crochet, needlepoint, cross-stitch, sewing and fiber arts enthusiasts!   Bring your projects and materials for a morning "in stitches" with other fiber craft artists.  All skill levels are welcome! 

Enjoy an inviting space where you and your child can learn, play, and socialize with others in the community every Tuesday. Listen to stories, move to the music, and have fun!

Recommended for ages 3 and up with a caregiver.

Practice the skills you need to be ready to read. Hear stories, sing songs, jump around and learn!

Suggested ages: 18 months - 3 years old.

The Central Library is hosting a creative writing club every first and third Saturday of the month!

Reading to therapy dogs can help improve kids' confidence in their reading abilities. Since dogs are not judgmental, kids can read to them without feeling the pressure and anxiety that may come from reading to peers. 

The first Dallas Poet Laureate, Joaquín Zihuatanejo, will hold office hours for aspiring poets in the city of Dallas! These sessions are designed to help Dallas poets work on individual poems and to eventually create a poetry manuscript.

 Each week will consist of new and fun music related activities along with playtime/social time. For ages 0 - 4.

Three of the six poets that have presented at a U.S. presidential inauguration are African American women. Join us as we explore and examine the inaugural address poems of Maya Angelou, Elizabeth Alexander, and Amanda Gorman.

Pleasant Grove Library is proud to host artist Frida Lozano as she teaches the community how to make masks from different Latinx cultures to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

Tainos, indigenous to Caribbean Islands such as Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, were known as a peaceful people who were also expert farmers and hunters.

We are happy to present this visual arts workshop with local writer and artist Ofelia Faz-Garza. You will create an original work of art based on work by existing BIPOC creatives. 

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month we would like to invite you and your friends to make your own "Mal de Ojo Bracelet" to protect you and your loved ones from the Evil Eye. 

Challenge one another or our staff and see who comes out on top! From 4:30 to 6:30, we will have our X-Box and Playstation 5 Available for teens to come and meet, chat, play, and challenge fellow gamers!
