The Three Sisters is the dynamic trio of beans, corn and squash that can be perfectly grown and eaten together. Come and learn the Native American tradition behind this trio and how to prepare a nutritious stew that can be added to your Thanksgiving feast.  The nutrition, preparation and history of the stew will be discussed along with the science behind planting and growing these vegetables. 

Amber White is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. She has been practicing for 8 years, 6 of those at the Urban Inter-Tribal Center of Texas. In her current position she educates and counsels people living with diabetes on nutrition, medication management and lifestyle modification. For the past two years she has been providing weekly cooking classes to clients of the center. These classes emphasize healthy diabetic friendly recipes that are easy and delicious.
