Medical Students working with Food as Medicine (FAME) at UT Southwestern will show you how to prepare and cook your home-grown fall vegetables while building a vegetable and grain bowl. During the session we will talk briefly about basics of nutrition and give you recipe ideas for cooking your own veggies. Interested in following along with the cooking? Instructions will be posted ahead of time with the simple recipe our students will be cooking along with a list of the kitchen implements you will need. Presented by Joey Campain and David Hutto.

Joey Campain is  Medical Student at UT Southwestern Medical School. He is a co-president for the Preventative and Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group and loves the idea of using food as a first-line defense against disease. David Hutto is a 2nd year Medical student at UT Southwestern. He’s interested in cardiology and understanding how lifestyle changes made through healthier eating and cooking habits can impact health and longevity.

Grow with Us is a series of online sessions from the Dallas Public Library - Seed Library and Dallas Environmental Quality and Sustainability hosting expert speakers to share practical, informative, and inspirational information about growing and urban agriculture in Dallas.
