Container gardening is one of the most most requested topics for the Grow with Us series. Texas Master Gardener CA Hisock will teach you about growing in containers and will be available to answer your questions. For those that received the Good to Grow kits, you can also share how your seeds are doing and get help troubleshooting any problems you may have encountered.
CA was born in and lived in New Jersey for over forty years. It’s not called the Garden State for nothing! Everyone had gardens (and often chickens and geese) when she was growing up. Her family grew vegetables, picked fruit and planted flowers, wandered through the fields and forests from early spring to late fall. CA thought she was a good gardener until she came to Dallas and had to deal with heat, drought and black clay soils. Going through the Master Gardener program began her education on Texas gardening. CA is particularly interested in plants native to this region.
This program is made possible by Resilient Communities: Libraries Respond to Climate Change, a pilot program of the American Library Association.
Grow with Us is a series of online sessions from the Dallas Public Library - Seed Library and Dallas Environmental Quality and Sustainability hosting expert speakers to share practical, informative, and inspirational information about growing and urban agriculture in Dallas.
